You Are What You Read

My friend Gilu pointed out to me the other day how a bookstore can be a good spot to meet, uhm, potential partners. Now i know he wants to make his own piece regarding this subject on his own blog but knowing him, it'll take a millennia before he could do it.

Anyway, yez, he said your favorite section in the bookstore pretty much describes your personality. Hopeless romantics hang out in the Romance section; entrepreneurial ones in the business section; people with deep (or at least pretending to be deep) personality can be found in the Classics aisle; the kindred ones in the New Age section; so on and so forth.

So pick out your interest, go to that corner of the bookstore and true enough you will find people who share yours. If you're lucky there'll be somebody cool enough to catch your attention.

He had time to think about all these because he waited for me for over an hour (i wasn't late, he was just too damn early). I shouldn't let him loose too much, hehe.

Have Shoes, Will Travel

Was watching an episode of Hollywood Squares this morning. One of the questions says that if a person goes on a long vacation, the IQ decreases by 20%. Why? because the brain lacks stimulation.

Bet that Bush family likes to go on vacations.

Wait, i like going on vacation. However i think that statistic applies if you go to an isolated beach island and you spend your week sunbathing and staring at the ocean. Day in and day out.

Well, moi on the other hand takes adventure trips, not really what you can call vacation. Because i don't like lying catatonic on a hotel bed all day. I go out and experience the great outdoors, i meet people and immerse myself with their culture. That's more that enough to stimulate my brain cells, i'll betcha.

Travel is education itself. You pick up new knowldege along the way, learn about the ways of the world, and discover new wonders you'll never forget. The world is such a big place to stay in one little corner for the rest of your life. There's so much to see, so much to taste.

I work my butt off all year so i can go on a trip annually. It makes life less of a burden when you look forward to seeing a new part of the world. Make the days worth living. Pack your bacpacks, put on your sneakers and tread wherever you may want to go, you won't regret it.

Going to the beach!!!!!!

Hitting the beach this weekend! Weeeee! Not really a beach person (i prefer the boondocks) but a weekend getaway with friends is always worth the trip.

Last chance to roll on the cool sandy shores as summer is fast treading the international dateline. Didn't get my annual Holy Week grand vacation but more trips planned for this year. Hope they all push through.

I live to travel. I work my butt off for a year so i can trek and swim and immerse myself somewhere far far far away from the boring, routinary cycle of my daily life.

Weeee! can't wait to put on that swimsuit and sarong and meet the beach!!!

Free..

Confetti flying outside my window. They're nice to watch. See them dancing to a tuneless song, still gracefully. Like thousands of little birds from the corner of your eye. Weightless pieces of paper resting on the roof only to be lifted up again to begin another round of swaying and gliding, flirting with invisible lovers, only manifested by the wind.

A nice break from looking at dead text and images from my computer screen. I see freedom right before my eyes. How i envy them.
