Summer 2008 Getaway

Summer it is and it doesn't fail to remind us under the sweltering heat. But you know what that means...time for my getaway!!!!

Didn't go far this year, though, my friends and I sought escape at a nearby beach resort in Batangas. Well it's relatively near from Manila at less than 3 hours of travel...that's if you know where you're going.


We got lost. Not once. Not twice. But thrice!!! How can one get lost thrice? We have no excuse, we just followed a vague map and a, as we realized later, super summarized driving direction. We wasted a lot of time that we reached our destination way after sundown. I can sea the ocean waving like one giant black monster. It was a different story the next day.

I can't post my photos like I did the past years as I believe Flickr has decided to halt its free service. I'm not even sure if my photos are still there. I'll have a check later. If I can I'll post my new ones for my three readers to see :p

Where To Go This Summer? Oh, Where To Go...

Can't believe almost a year has passed since I went off to my annual Summer getaway. I could still remember all the details -- from the bookings to the sweet aroma of the ocean breeze.

Well, this year we haven't decided yet where to go. With my limited budget I really have very few options, but enough to get a good time out of it.

I've been looking forward to a Cambodia-Vietnam trip. I heard an info that Angkor Wat will closed to the tourists soon, whether for good or for some badly needed restoration, so it's probably a good time to go.

But one of my friends is coming home for the summer and would rather go on a local adventure. So option #2 Davao City. Which isn't really bad. Haven't been there and it sure would be a fine place to visit.

A probable volcano trek is also in the works. But that's a one-day thingie so it's just an extra curricular for the summer.

Oh where to go? We better make a decision soon because bookings are fast closing. Wherever I will be going, I sure will have a hell of a great time as in the past travel adventures :)
